Hi
This is certainly a very long mail. Hope you have patience.
My last day at work- bliss
Today is my last day at Wipro Technologies. Leaving a job is always hard.
There are feelings of failure. A feeling of incompleteness; of a job half done. Abandonment. Missed opportunities. Friendships made that will never be quite the same after leaving.
All my stuff in a box on the floor. People stopping by to say farewell. Leaving a job I really loved is one of the most difficult things I've ever had to do. ![]()
But new opportunities await; I'm ready....let's go.
I am now enjoying my last day of freedom as an unemployed person by sitting on my deck in the unseasonable rainfall of Chennai, watching the cat watch the squirrels, who are also watching the cat.
Breakfast enabled by a death-defying motorcycle ride into the vehicular heart of darkness Inside Chennai - no fatalities were incurred, although my pulse quickened a few times. Note to self: the locals appear to be immune to the effects of high-visibility outerwear on motorcyclists. ![]()
The most common reactions when I told my (ex)colleagues that it was my last day were:
1. "Congratulations!" ![]()
2. Complete disbelief
3. "Let me know if there's an opening where you are going" ![]()
Its mixed feeling today, I am sad and emotional because I would miss a great company with great culture, people/friends in Wipro Technologies and many other things which I would probably realize after sometime. But at the same time I am excited about future.
In any case, wish me luck. This is probably the most difficult job change ever for me since it’s not just a job that I’m leaving, and not just a job that I’m joining.
It's not often you have the chance to change the world and make it better; Thank you for the opportunity to make a difference, and thank you most of all for being part of something that has made me a much better and stronger person for being a part of it.
It has been a wonderful time working here among great people. I have learnt so much about product development, quality assurance and many more things.
I met people and worked with them, whom I always wanted to see, talk to. People, who have been a source of inspiration for me.
I would like to thank everyone inside Wipro Technologies and outside, who have helped me and supported me to do my work well.
Hope you enjoyed being and working with me as part of the team.
I wish you luck good fortunes and in all your future endeavors. Probably we might bump into each other in the near future…. ![]()
Maybe we have to be crazy.
How else can we stare at an empty canvas and see a work of art?
Or sit in silence and hear a song that's never been written?
If you wish to stay in touch, ping me at zzzsai@gmail.com (or any other domain with the same user id – Orkut, yahoo.com, aol.in, hotmail.com, etc,) or my number +91-9940665547 (Until I exist in Chennai).
Now, coming to the bliss part, I ring work and apparently no one can get in due to traffic delays and everything being at a standstill. The boss says ''enjoy your last day at home, no need to come in''. Now I wakeup to find it’s just a dream. ![]()
